CANFIELD
Jan. 13
Theft: Police arrested a 20-year-old Canfield man was after he stole about 30 pieces of candy from the grocery portion of the Giant Eagle, 525 E. Main St., and then met a woman inside the Giant Eagle video store. Police charged him with theft and both he and the woman were given a criminal trespass warning.
Jan. 14
Theft: A male suspect stole cash and a carton of juice worth $3.19 at Nemenz IGA, 8 N. Broad St. The man gave the checkout clerk a $50 bill, then claimed she had not given him enough change. The clerk laid the $50 bill in the counter and rechecked the change. The man then said to forget it and left. She then noticed he had taken the $50 bill.
AUSTINTOWN
Jan. 11
Theft: A 2003 Mac trailer was stolen from Pilot Oil, 1150 N. Canfield-Niles Road.
Assault: An unidentified suspect assaulted a man at Chipper's, 5 N. Edgehill Ave.
Burglary: A variety of pills, a CD player and money were taken in a burglary at a residence in the 20 block of Penny Lane.
Sex offense: An 18-year-old female was sexually assaulted in the 100 block of Brockton Drive.
Auto theft: A black 1987 Buick Century was stolen from the 1000 block of South Raccoon Road.
Theft: Tires were stolen from a trailer at Pilot Oil, 1150 N. Canfield-Niles Road.
Bad check: A $900 check was drawn on a closed account and tendered at Blue Ribbon Cleaners, 4004 Mahoning Ave.
Theft: Police arrested a man for theft at the IGA, 4477 Mahoning Ave.
Theft: An ATM card was stolen from the 4000 block of Timberbrook Drive.
Criminal damage: A picture window was shot out by a BB gun in the 600 block of South Turner Road.
Criminal damage: A vehicle window was shot out by a BB gun at Jeswald Auto and Truck Service, 6528 Mahoning Ave.
Criminal damage: A vehicle was damaged by a BB gun at Noday's Deli, 5229 Mahoning Ave.
Criminal damage: A window of a business was shot out by a BB gun at Belleria Pizza, 5625 Mahoning Ave.
Criminal damage: A driver's door window was shot at by a BB gun at Wedgewood Lanes, 1741 S. Raccoon Road.
Criminal damage: A front passenger window was shot at by a BB gun at the Budapest Inn, 3780 Mahoning Ave.
Criminal damage: A passenger window was broken at Wedgewood Lanes.
Criminal damage: A rear window of a vehicle on the driver's side was damaged at Wedgewood Lanes.
Criminal damage: A rear hatch window of a vehicle was damaged by a BB gun at Wedgewood Lanes.

Unauthorized use of motor vehicle: A woman took a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier from the 2000 block of South Raccoon Road without the owner's permission.
Jan. 13
Criminal trespass: Police arrested a woman and took her to Mahoning County jail on a charge of trespassing at the Rebel Truck lot, 5335 Seventy-Six Drive.
Theft: A Snoopy Christmas lawn ornament was stolen from the 4000 block of Burkey Road.
Criminal damage: A mailbox was damaged in the 5000 block of Cider Mill Crossing.
Theft: A decorative deer was stolen from the 3000 block of Meanderwood Drive.
Theft: A radio was taken from a vehicle at Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.
Drug offense: Police arrested a 40-year old Ravenna woman at Wal-Mart for trying to pass a bad prescription. She was charged with several crimes, including possession of criminal tools, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of drug abuse instruments, drug abuse-cocaine, illegal processing of drug instruments (bad prescriptions) and possession of dangerous drugs.
Theft: Police said a man is a suspect in a theft at Alpine Motors, 220 S. Meridian Road.
Jan. 14
Arrest: Police arrested a man on a secret indictment of aggravated trafficking in methamphetamine in the 500 block of Pierce Drive, Boardman.
Sex offense: Police arrested a man in the 800 block of Compass West apartments for posting nude photos of children on the Internet.
Jan. 15
Criminal damage: A vehicle's window was broken at Don Munn Auto Sales, 5317 Mahoning Ave.
Theft: A cell phone was taken from Woodside Elementary School, 4105 Elmwood Ave.
Theft: A total of $170 was stolen from Woodside Elementary School.
Burglary: An unidentified juvenile suspect was observed running from a residence in the 400 block of Kerrybrook Drive.
Theft: Jewelry was stolen from an apartment in the residential 4000 block of Kirk Road.
Jan. 16
Auto theft: A black 1986 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme was stolen from Racks II, 4213 Mahoning Ave.
Drug offense: Police arrested a man on a summons for possession of marijuana after a traffic stop at the intersection of Kirk and Raccoon roads.
Theft: An AM-FM/CD player was stolen from a vehicle at Quaker Manufacturing, 207 N. Four Mile Run Road.
Criminal damage: Two windows were shot out at Bank One, 4243 Mahoning Ave.
Menacing: A victim was threatened by an ex-employee at Denny's, 4927 Mahoning Ave.
Vehicle theft: A 1978 Suzuki was stolen from the intersection of North Raccoon and Lanterman roads.
Criminal damage: A window was shot out at Arthur Treacher's, 4451 Mahoning Ave.
Drug offense: Police charged a man with drug abuse of marijuana after his arrest at Racks II.
Theft: Personal checks were stolen out of a company car at the 7-Up Bottling Co., 1142 N. Meridian Road. They were later recovered by Niles police.
Robbery: A woman's purse was taken by her boyfriend after an altercation in the 1600 block of Fountain Square Apartments.
Jan. 17
Arrest: Police arrested an 18-year-old man for theft of an auto and for disorderly conduct in the 300 block of Edgehill Avenue.
Theft: Prescription drugs were taken from the 100 block of Dehoff Drive.
Theft: A soft-drink machine was broken into and change taken at Carl's Towing, 6704 Mahoning Ave.
