Springfield wins to go 12-0 for best start since 1981-82

BERLIN CENTER -- Angelina Fiumara scored 14 points Thursday as the Springfield High girls basketball team pulled away for a 48-37 win over Western Reserve in the Inter-County League.
The 12-0 start is the best start to a season at Springfield since the 1981-82 Tigers went 20-0.
Sarah Fannon also scored 11 points for the Tigers (12-0, 6-0), who trailed 22-19 at the half.
Carrie Davis added 10 points and Lindsey Johnson collected nine points, 10 rebounds and six steals.
Sarah Kutsko scored nine points for the Blue Devils (2-9, 0-7).
South Range 46, Mineral Ridge 35
NORTH LIMA -- Trailing 32-30 early in the fourth quarter, South Range used a 16-0 run to pull away for the victory.
Kelly Skrinyer scored nine of her 13 points in the fourth quarter for the Raiders (7-5, 5-1 ICL), while Jodi James had 11 points and 14 rebounds. South Range held a 42-30 rebounding edge. Tara Chizmar had 10 points and Jesse Clayton added 10 assists for the Raiders.
Rachel Siller and Julie Buckner each had nine points for the Rams (2-9, 0-5).
