Youngstown man faces charges involving DUI, multiple warrants

Sunday, February 29, 2004

CANFIELD -- Police arrested a Youngstown man with 11 driving suspensions and five outstanding Mahoning County warrants Thursday on drunken driving and other charges.
Police pulled over Kevin Kridler, 28, of Wakefield Avenue, as he drove his sport-utility vehicle on Palmyra Road at 11:34 p.m., police reports show. Officers first became suspicious when the driver of an SUV darted onto a wooded trail in the area upon seeing a police car.
Officers said they pulled over Kridler's vehicle after spotting it on Herbert and Turner roads. Police said Kridler did not have a driver's license with him and, at first, provided a false name and birth date.
He told officers he had consumed a six-pack of beer at home before leaving to pick up his girlfriend at work in Canfield. He failed three field sobriety tests, but a breath-alcohol level was inconclusive because he performed it improperly, reports say.
He faces charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under suspension, driving without insurance, falsification and driving without a front license plate.
