YOUNGSTOWN -- Lawrence A. DiDomenico, a podiatrist with Ankle & amp; Foot Centers in Youngstown, has been elected to a three-year term on the board of directors for the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. The ACFAS is a 5,700-member organization that promotes superior care for foot and ankle surgical patients.
DiDomenico is on staff at St. Elizabeth Health Center, Forum Health Northside Medical Center, Salem Community and East Liverpool City hospitals. He also serves as residency director of the podiatric surgical residency program at Forum Health.
A Canfield resident, he has a bachelor's degree from Miami University and earned his medical degree from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. He completed a residency at the Sheehan Memorial Hospital in Buffalo, N.Y., and is board-certified in foot surgery and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Thomas Fok & amp; Associates Ltd., an engineering and consulting firm based on Mahoning Avenue, took home a statewide award last weekend for its design of the new Wye Road bridge over Yellow Creek in Summit County.
The American Council of Engineering Companies of Ohio recognized the local company with an Honor Award in its Engineering Excellence Awards competition for the bridge, which opened to traffic last October. Projects entered in the competition are judged on the basis of technical innovation and social and economic factors.
EAST LIVERPOOL -- Marvin H. Feldman of East Liverpool, a 30-year member of the Million Dollar Round Table, will receive the organization's highest honor, its Circle of Life Award. The MDRT is an international independent association of nearly 28,000 life insurance and financial services professionals from around the world.
A banquet will be held in his honor March 27 at the Pittsburgh Westin Convention Center in Pittsburgh, and the proceeds will support the grant programs of the MDRT Foundation and the East Liverpool Area Family YMCA.
Feldman has a bachelor's degree in marketing from The Ohio State University and has been a career agent with New York Life since 1967.
CHAMPION -- Champion Insurance on Center Street West in Champion Township has qualified as a senior partner agency with Grange Insurance for 2004, which means the local business is one of the company's top-tier agencies. Tom R. Uher and Randy L. Jones own the agency, which recently added a second office in Austintown.
