Local woman on 'Squares'
POLAND -- A local woman will appear as a contestant on the syndicated TV game show "Hollywood Squares" next Thursday. Debbie Gierlach, co-owner of The Wally G. Press & amp; Bindery Inc., auditioned after calling the show's hot line, (323) 850-0707. Celebrities who appear on the program with Gierlach include comedians Martin Mull and Victoria Jackson, ventriloquist Jeff Dunham, actors Ted Danson, Frankie Muniz, George Hamilton and French Stewart, and actress-model Angie Everhart. "Hollywood Squares" is shown at 5:30 p.m. weekdays on WKBN-TV Channel 27.

NEW YORK -- Youngstown native Larry Jones is the first to have the title of president of TV Land and Nick at Nite. Jones has been executive vice president and general manager of cable channel TV Land since 1997. Responsibilities of his new job include managing day-to-day operations of both TV Land and Nick at Nite, overseeing production and development of original programs, advertising sales and marketing. Jones was hired at Nick at Nite in 1988. He reports to Herb Scannell, group president of MTV Networks and president of Nickelodeon Networks.
Britney Spears concert
BURGETTSTOWN, Pa. -- Pop performer Britney Spears will be onstage July 14 at Post-Gazette Pavilion, Routes 18 and 22. The opening act will be announced later.
