Wednesday, February 25, 2004

COLUMBUS -- A town hall meeting March 4 in Alliance in support of state Rep. John A. Boccieri, a New Middletown Democrat who's been called to active duty in the U.S. Air Force Reserves, has been moved to a new location.
The event will now be held in the pavilion of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1036, 1036 E. State St., from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The previous location was the Alliance YWCA, organizers said.
Minority House Democrats scheduled the event to answer constituent questions and concerns from the district that covers all of Carroll County and portions of Mahoning, Stark and Tuscarawas counties.
Boccieri, in his second two-year term, is a captain in the U.S. Air Force Reserves and has been called up to active duty in support of the military conflict in Iraq.
House Minority Leader Chris Redfern, D-Catawba Island, is expected to attend the event as are Democratic state Reps. Kenneth Carano of Austintown, Joyce Beatty of Columbus, Dale Miller of Cleveland, Lance T. Mason of Cleveland, Mary Cirelli of Canton, George Distel of Conneaut, Sandra Stabile Harwood of Niles and Dan Sferra of Warren.
