INDIANAPOLIS -- Youngstown State has been awarded a forfeit victory over the University of Detroit.
Detroit's athletic department discovered a student-athlete that had played in three games, including two league contests, prior to being certified by the NCAA Clearinghouse.
Detroit also forfeited a victory over Illinois-Chicago.
YSU's record is now 4-20 overall and 2-11 in the Horizon League. Detroit is now 10-13, 7-6, and UIC is 12-12, 6-7.
Baumann namedto academic team
YOUNGSTOWN -- Senior center Adam Baumann (Scottsdale, Ariz.) was one of five student-athletes named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District IV team.
Baumann was joined on the team by Belmont senior guard Steve Drabyn, Michigan State junior guard Chris Hill, Belmont senior forward Adam Mark and Austin Peay senior guard Rhet Wierzba.
Baumann, a transfer from Yavapai Junior College, is averaging 12.4 points and a team-best 7.2 rebounds per contest. He has started every game in his two-year career.
District IV is made up of schools from Ohio, Michigan, Tennessee and Kentucky.
He is the Penguins' third Academic All-District selection since 1999, joining Andrew Hannan (1998-99) and Craig Haese (2000-01).

Scrappy at show
WARREN -- The Mahoning Valley Scrappers mascot, Scrappy, will make a guest appearance at the Mahoning Valley Home and Garden Show at the Eastwood Expo Center at CVS Windows and Siding booth today and Saturday, from 2 to 4 p.m. each day.
Phantoms adjustremaining schedule
BOARDMAN -- The Youngstown Phantoms' games against the Toledo Ice Diggers will take place as originally scheduled tonight and Saturday.
Both games will begin at 7 p.m. The games will be included in the Phantoms‚ overall record, but it has not yet been determined if either game will count in the North American Hockey League standings.
The remainder of the regular season schedule is: Feb. 27-28, at Soo Indians; March 5-6, vs. Springfield Jr. Blues at The Ice Zone; March 12-13, vs. USA National Team at The Ice Zone; March 19-20, at Soo Indians, and March 26-27, at Cleveland Barons.
One of the two games against Toledo this weekend may be considered the 11th game. There is also a possibility another game could be scheduled against the Ice Diggers at a date to be determined with that contest rounding out the Phantoms' 56-game schedule. Changes to the original schedule became necessary when the Dayton Gems dropped out of the league in late December.
Western Reserveto sell tickets
BERLIN CENTER -- Tickets for the Western Reserve High girls and boys basketball tournament games will be on sale at halftime of tonight's boys game.
Prices are $5 for adults and $3 for students. All tickets purchased at the tournament door cost $6.
Tickets also will be on sale at the athletic office from noon to 2:30 p.m. from Feb. 23 through March 4 at 11 a.m.
City bowling winners
YOUNGSTOWN -- Bowladrome Lanes and Massage Therapies were category winners of the 72nd annual Youngstown Bowling Association city tournament.
Bowladrome Lanes rolled 3,440 to win the 1,000 average-and-over category, while Massage Therapies captured the 999-and-under division with a 3,469 total.
Bowladrome bowlers were Brian Auman, James DeMain, Bill Auman, Kevin Coppola and Ray Grow. Bowladrome receives $800 and plaques. Low in the money was 3,297.
Therapies bowlers were Bill Miller, Bill Barr, Tom Ring, Joe Lampe and Frank Tomic. Massage Therapies receives $700 and plaques. Low in the money was 3,318.
John Mshar and Drew Chorba were singles champions, Mshar with 769 in the 200 average-and-over and Chorba for 791 in 199-and-under. Both receive $200 and plaques. Low in the money was 668 (200-over) and 703 (199-under).
In doubles, Fred White and Joe Nuzzo rolled 1435 to win the 400 average-and-over division. They receive $360 and plaques. Low in the money was 1331.
The 399-and-under division finished in a tie between James DiMuzio and Steven DiMuzio and Jon and Nick Mamrich, both teams with 1465. They'll receive $240 and plaques. Low in the money was 1412.
The all-events champions were Brian Auman and Joe Haus. Auman had 2123 in 200-and-over, while Haus had 2125 in 199-and-under. Auman receives $120 while Haus gets $100. Low in the money scores were 2070 for 200-over and 2092 for 199-under.
Checks may be picked up at the YBA office, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
