Family dinner celebrates Fedors' 50th

XSTRUTHERS -- The 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Laddie J. Fedor, 320 W. Hopewell Drive, was celebrated Dec. 18 during a family dinner at the Holiday Inn in Boardman.
Hosting the event were the couple's son, L. David Fedor of North Lima, and their daughter, Sharon Fedor-Chalfin of Boardman, and her fiance, Wayne Korte, who announced their wedding plans for 2005 when festivities continued afterward at the Fedor home.
Mr. Fedor and the former Shirley J. Gill, were married Dec. 18, 1954, at St. John's Episcopal Church in Youngstown, where they are members.
She retired as a high-school teacher with Struthers City School District and is a member of Chi Omega Sorority.
Her husband retired in 1986 as superintendent of Struthers schools after 38 years of service. During World War II he served in the European Theatre from 1943 to 1946 as a member of Gen. George Patton's 3rd Army with the 11th Armored Division's 575th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He belongs to Struthers Rotary, Struthers Historical Society, Phi Delta Kappa, Mahoning and Ohio retired teachers associations, Disabled American Veterans and Youngstown State University Alumni.
