LISBON -- Officials are continuing to repair damage from this weekend's flooding while warning of additional danger.
Salem Township Constable Daniel K. Valentine warned he would cite anyone tampering with barricades on the township's many closed roads.
Valentine said many roads have blacktop remaining but the dirt or base has been washed away.
"The past several days, our road crews who are working nonstop with little sleep to get the roads opened have been harassed by those attempting to travel on the unsafe roads that are closed. The sooner [crews] can repair the road, the sooner they open it up to vehicular traffic," Valentine said.
Closed roads are to be used only for people leaving or going to their homes, the constable said.
Many roadblocks
The township road department has used all its barricades, and even used a farm wagon to block off one road.
* State Route 45 is closed south of Salem between Snyder Road and state Route 558 because a 30-foot section of the road was washed away. Ohio Department of Transportation officials said the road will be closed for some time because extensive repairs are needed.
* Route 45 northbound traffic is detoured to U.S. 30 west to state Route 172 west to state Route 9 north. Southbound traffic is detoured to Route 9 south, Route 172 east to U.S. 30 east.
* Depot Road is closed at Salem Grange Road because of high water.
* Winona Road from the village of Winona to Depot Road is closed because of a bridge washout.
* Teegarden Road is closed from state Route 45 to Gamble Road because of high water.
* Sprucevale Road is closed at the intersection of Gretchen's Locke because of high water.
* Rochester Road between state Route 172 and Georgetown Road is closed because of high water.
* Knox School Road is closed from Georgetown Road to U.S. 62 because of high water.
* Woodsdale Road between Depot Road and Burtview Road is closed because of high water.
* Adams Road west of state Route 164 is closed because of high water.
* King Road between Whinnery Road and state Route 9 is closed because of a bridge washout.
* Brookfield Street (Ganders Flat) in Center Township is closed because of high water.
* Logtown Road is closed between Saltwell Road and Furnace Road because of high water.
* Miller Road is closed between Lisbon Road and state Route 164 because of high water.
Offices closed
In other developments, all county offices that use Lisbon's water supply were closed today.
Common Pleas Court was to be open for essential services, but attorneys with scheduled cases were told to check with the court.
Both potable and nondrinking water was still being made available at Lisbon village hall and at the Giant Eagle in Calcutta.
In Lisbon, trash bins for storm-related debris have been placed on Caldwell Street, the site of some of the worst damage, and on Chestnut Street and Pritchard Avenue.
In Salem, the lower floor of the library flooded again Friday night. The Salem Fire Department said it also pumped out the basements of about 10 homes.
