XSTRUTHERS -- Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Owens of 234 W. Hopewell Drive were honored Aug. 7 at a dinner reception at Soffo's Restaurant in Boardman in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary.
Arrangements for the observance were made by the couple's children and their spouses, Janine and Tom Fleming of Poland and Michelle and Carl Snyder of Youngstown. A son, Gary Owens, is deceased. Three grandchildren complete their family.
Mr. Owens and the former Betty Buchanan were married Aug. 7, 1954, at St. Stephen Church in Youngstown. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and retired in 1990 from his career as an electrician with IBEW Local 64.
His wife is a homemaker and member of the South Side Bridge Club. She also belongs to the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.
The couple attend Calvary Assembly of God in Boardman.
