MERCER, PA. Man gets prison sentence

Several others were also sentenced Thursday.
MERCER, Pa. -- A Mercer man was sentenced to one to two years in prison Thursday for providing three minors with drugs at West Middlesex Area High School.
William Shirley, 19, was given the term by Common Pleas Court Judge Michael Wherry for corruption of minors, a misdemeanor, and unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, a felony.
According to court documents, on March 6, Shirley gave Tamazepam, a controlled substance, to two 16-year-olds and a 17-year-old. Two of the youths were hospitalized after taking the drug.

Several others were also sentenced Thursday:
UMichael Brakeman, 32, of Meek Street, Sharon, two consecutive four-month terms in the Intermediate Punishment Program and eight months' probation for an accident involving death or injury and criminal mischief, both misdemeanors. On March 16, according to court documents, he went through a stop sign on Strawbridge Avenue at State Street, Sharon, driving into the path of another vehicle. Brakeman fled, although the other driver was injured. The same day, he intentionally rammed a woman's automobile, causing more than $1,000 damage. That also took place on Strawbridge Avenue.
UNancy Caldwell, 50, of McClure Avenue, Sharon, two years' probation plus restitution for theft of leased property, a misdemeanor. According to court documents, she failed to make payments to Rent-a-Center, 1003 Hamilton Avenue, Farrell, on a computer, printer, big-screen television and VCR as she had agreed.
URodney Camp, 38, of Stambaugh Avenue, Sharon, to six to 12 months in jail for possession of OxyContin, possession of paraphernalia, forgery and receiving stolen property, all misdemeanors. According to court documents, he was apprehended in Farrell with OxyContin and Vicodin pills and apprehended at different times with pipes used for smoking crack cocaine; jewelry stolen from Treasure Cove Antique Mall, 3420 New Castle Road, Shenango Township; and two stolen checkbooks. He also wrote $1,670 worth of checks on a checking account without permission of the owner.
UMichael Edward Duell, 58, of Sherrard Avenue, Greenville, three years' probation plus restitution for felony theft by unlawful taking. According to court documents, on March 19, he took $5,644 in cash receipts from Kwik Fill-Red Apple Convenience Store, 352 North Main Street, Greenville, where he was employed as store manager.
ULisa Kenneally, 23, of New Castle Avenue, Sharon, 15 to 30 days plus two years' probation and restitution for misdemeanor retail theft. According to court documents, from August to November 2002 she conspired with a man to steal food, diapers and laundry detergent worth more than $150 from Shop-N-Save, 2199 E. State St., Hermitage.
UDaniel Swallow, Jr., 36, of South Ninth Street, Sharpsville, one year's probation for recklessly endangering another person, a misdemeanor, for firing two shots from a handgun April 8 toward another man. One shot hit the man's home. The shooting occurred at Shenango and Cherry Streets, Sharpsville.
UMichael Taylor, 36, of Orchard Street, Sharon, two years' probation for misdemeanor retail theft for stealing several DVDs worth $128 from Wal-Mart, 3300 Shenango Valley Freeway, Hermitage, in January.
UEdward Whitmire, 19, of Butler, two years' probation, plus $10 fine and restitution for misdemeanor theft by unlawful taking and criminal mischief, a summary offense. According to court documents, last November, he conspired with two other men to enter a building at Camp Nazareth, 339 Pew Road, Delaware Township, and take miscellaneous items valued at $1,489.
