WARREN -- A Trumbull County grand jury will decide if a Warren man whose violent arrest made national news should be indicted.
Several witnesses testified in front of the grand jury Wednesday in Lyndal Kimble's case.
Atty. Richard Olivito, who represents Kimble, said his client would not testify before the grand jury.
Since grand jury proceedings are secret, it is not known when a decision will come.
Kimble faces charges of felonious assault on a police officer, possession of drugs and tampering with evidence.
Kimble's arrest about 1 p.m. June 28 near his home was videotaped by a neighbor. The videotape, showing police throwing Kimble to the ground, has been played on local and national news.
Different perspectives
Amy Price, 28, who lived across the street from Kimble at the time of his arrest was seen outside the grand jury room.
Price testified during Kimble's August preliminary hearing in municipal court that she feared Kimble's life was in danger.
According to Price, Kimble kept asking officers to stop. She has also said she was so concerned about Kimble that she called for an ambulance.
Officer Greg Hoso, however, also testified during the hearing and said it was Kimble, not police, who was abusive.
Hoso said he suffered cuts on his arms and Kimble tried to choke him.
Hoso said he saw Kimble put suspected cocaine in his mouth, and the officers were trying to get the drug before it was swallowed.
Hoso noted Kimble later apologized to him.
