Envirochemical sold more than 98 products to Trumbull County. The prosecutor's office, with the help of the state auditor, selected 20 products to compare the catalog price with the purchase price. It was determined that the county paid $88,000 in excess of the catalog price for the 20 products from 1999 through August 2002. The company sold more than $618,000 in janitorial supplies to Trumbull County during that four-year period. Here are some of the products, the catalog price and the amount the county paid.
TOTAL KILL (BUG SPRAY)
Catalog price: $77.50 for a case.
The county paid from $125 to $875 per case.
SPARKLE & amp; GLEME GLASS CLEANER
Catalog price: $28.92 per case.
The county paid from $92 to $120 per case.
ALL PURPOSE CLEANER
Catalog price: $33.53 per case.
The county paid from $90 to $110 per case.
PINE JELL (DEODORANTS)
Catalog price: $37 per case
The county paid from $105 to $140 per case.
