Vrabels mark 50th anniversary with trip, reunion

XYOUNGSTOWN -- Edward J. "Red" and Dolores M. "Dolly" Vrabel of 3325 Ambert St. celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with their family on a trip to Disney World in Orlando, Fla., and at a family reunion Sept. 20 at the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Lora and James Graneto of Canfield.
Their other children and their spouses are Eric and Kelly Vrabel of Weddington, N.C., and Kevin and Karen Vrabel of Canfield. Seven grandchildren complete their family.
A liturgy is being said in their honor this morning at St. Nicholas Byzantine Church.
Mr. Vrabel and the former Dolores M. Hudran were married Sept. 26, 1953, at St. John the Baptist Church in Campbell. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and retired in 1986 after 41 years as a craneman and die setter with Youngstown Sheet & amp; Tube/LTV in Campbell.
His wife was an office clerk for Sohio/BP in Youngstown for 24 years prior to retiring in 1992.
The Vrabels are members of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, where they are active volunteers and Mr. Vrabel served as church cantor for 15 years. He also is a member of the church golf league, and she is a former member of the Twilighters Golf League.
The couple also belong to the Golden Circle Seniors group.
