LOWELLVILLE -- The railroad crossing at Washington Street will be closed Sept. 22-23 to allow for repairs to the tracks.
A temporary crossing for emergency vehicles will be erected east of Washington Street.

The River Road crossing currently closed for track repairs is expected to be open before the Washington Street crossing is closed.
Attempted abduction
AUSTINTOWN -- Police are looking for a man in an older Ford Taurus who tried to abduct a 12-year-old boy as he was riding his bicycle along S. Raccoon Road.
According to police reports, the boy was on his way home from skating at about 8 p.m. Wednesday when a black Taurus with a gold grill pulled up, cutting him off. The report says the driver got out of the vehicle, jumped over the hood, grabbed the boy's arm and tried to pull him off his bike.
The boy told police he broke free and fled through a church parking lot to a gas station across the street with the man in his Taurus chasing him.
A clerk at the gas station called the boy's parents and police.
The man is described as white and about 5 feet 11 inches tall, with dark brown hair cut in a bowl fashion with shaved sides and back, and a mustache.
