Coaches: Tisha Hill is in her first season at YSU. Joe Ciampi is in his 25th season with the Tigers.
YSU starters: Cathy Hanek (5-8 junior guard), Jessica Olmstead (5-9 junior guard), Ashlee Russo (5-8 freshman guard), Jen Perugini (6-2 junior forward), Jessica Forsythe (5-11 senior forward).
Auburn starters: Nicole Louden (5-7 junior guard), Natasha Brackett (5-9 junior guard), Mandisa Stevenson (6-3 senior center), Louise Emeagi (6-1 junior forward), Le'Coe Willingham (6-0 senior forward).
Scouting report: After picking up its first victory of the season and the first career win for Hill, YSU begins a tough stretch of five straight road games tonight. The Penguins are coming off a 79-67 win over Mid-American Conference member Bowling Green. Olmstead scored a career-high 25 points against the Falcons, while Hanek and Perugini each added 15. Forsythe grabbed 11 rebounds. Auburn has won two straight, defeating Old Dominion 84-49 and Stetson 92-37. This marks the second straight season YSU has played a SEC member; the Penguins lost to Vanderbilt last season. Auburn is a preseason USA Today/ESPN/WBCA top 25 selection, led by Brackett's 15.7 points per game.
Series: This will be the first meeting between the schools.
