Thursday, November 20, 2003

BOARDMAN -- Handel's Homemade Ice Cream and Yogurt is selling "Kids for Kids," a compact disc filled with holiday music performed by Mahoning Valley high school students, with the proceeds going to Tod Children's Hospital.
The 18 songs on the CD, done by more than 1,000 students at 16 high schools, run the gamut from choruses to soloists to jazz bands to orchestras, said Matthew Lachut, Handel's director of operations. The songs were recorded over three days in October at the Boardman High School auditorium.
Handel's was to hold a premiere party for the CD at Boardman High School today and has invited the students who performed to hear it.
The CDs, which sell for $10 each, are available at Handel's six Mahoning Valley locations.
