XYOUNGSTOWN -- The exchange of nuptial vows took place Oct. 11 during a 2 p.m. ceremony at Zion Lutheran Church as Abby E. Sferra, daughter of Bonny and Mike Tarantino, Burr Oak Court, Austintown, and David Courtney, a son of Dave and Shelly Courtney, Dartmouth Drive, Canfield, were united in marriage.
The Rev. Dr. Dale Giffin presided at the ceremony, and a reception was held afterward at the Avalon Inn Grand Ballroom in Howland.
The newlyweds left on a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico. They live on Lancaster Drive, Austintown.
The bride's white halter-style gown was embroidered with bugle beads, and the full tulle skirt flowed into a cathedral train.
The bride's sister and honor attendant, Gina Sferra, wore a maroon-colored gown, as did the bridesmaids, Michelle Courtney, the groom's sister; Jaclyn Stromyer, his cousin; Lexy Sferra, the bride's niece; and Eilish Deuley, her cousin. Flower girl was Natelle Smith. Also participating was Kristen Staffrey.
Jason Courtney was best man for his brother, and groomsman was Dan Stone. Ushers were James and Scott Freeze, the groom's cousins; Mark Jordan; and Jason Paul.
The bride graduated from New York Institute of Photography in New York, N.Y., and is the owner of CWC Productions in Canfield, where she is a filmer-photographer.
The groom is an inventory-control supervisor with Gray Bar Electric.
