Cedar Point
Where: 1 Causeway Drive, Sandusky.
What's new: Go from 0 to 120 mph in four seconds on Top Thrill Dragster, the park's 16th coaster and the first in the world to have a hill that's more than 400 feet high (420, to be exact). After riders reach the crest, they'll experience a 400-foot drop and a 270-degree spiral before crossing the finish line.

Dover Lake Waterpark
Where: next to Brandywine Ski Resort, Sagamore Hills.
What's new: Lily Pad Lagoon, a slow river ride with inner tubes.
Hours: 11-6:30 daily from June 20 through Aug. 17.

Kennywood Park
Where: 4800 Kennywood Blvd. (off Interstate 376), West Mifflin, Pa.
What's new: King Kahuna, a new rotating, stomach-churning ride in the Volcano Valley section of the park; and the Ham on Rye Theater, where 10 audience members compete in a virtual-reality adventure game.
Hours: Rides begin at 11 a.m. daily through Aug. 24; hours change from Aug. 25 to Sept. 7.

Sandcastle
Where: 1000 Sandcastle Drive, Pittsburgh.
What's new: The Blue Tubaluba, slides that are 450 feet long and include a vertical drop of nearly 50 feet.
Hours: Open June 7 to Sept. 1; hours are 11-6 daily in June and September, 11-7 daily in July and August (limited hours from Aug. 25-29).

Six Flags Worlds of Adventure
Where: 1060 N. Aurora Road, Aurora.
What's new: New water slides in Hurricane Harbor water park; family rides Thriller Bees and Starfish; and the Paul Bunyan Lumberjack and Tropical Treasures Bird shows.
Hours: Open daily at 10 a.m. through Sept. 3. Closing times vary.

Splash Lagoon
Where: 8091 Peach St., Erie, Pa.
What's new: This indoor water park resort just opened Feb. 28. Splash Lagoon has seven water slides, two 50-person whirlpools, a Lazy-Crazy-River float ride, an activity pool, water basketball hoops, "Monkey Shines Island" for little kids, an interactive tree house and an arcade, as well as concessions. A Lazer Tag Arena is nearby. Two all-suites hotels -- Holiday Inn Express & amp; Suites and Residence Inn by Marriott -- are connected to the facility, and water park passes are reserved for overnight guests. Remaining passes go on sale at 10 a.m. daily.

Waldameer Park & amp; Water World
