Parker Hannifin Corp.lowers its expectations
CLEVELAND -- Parker Hannifin Corp. lowered earnings expectations Tuesday for the company's third quarter ending March 31 because of the industrial recession.
The company, which makes motion and control devices for industrial uses, projects earnings between 43 and 53 cents per share after originally projecting earnings between 55 and 65 cents per share.

Federal Reserve leaves interest rates alone
WASHINGTON -- With looming war making economic forecasting unusually difficult, the Federal Reserve decided Tuesday to leave interest rates unchanged at a 41-year low.
The Fed held out the prospect, however, that it would move quickly to cut rates if fallout from military conflict should threaten to push the country back into recession.
