He is batting .260 with three RBIs. Gutierrez, who has a .268 career average, will not return this season.

School district bansboys from girls' sports
NEWVILLE, Pa. -- Citing concerns over safety and competitiveness, school board members in the Big Spring School District have voted to prohibit boys from participating on girls teams, but it was unclear what would happen if boys were on the opposing team.
The policy approved by a 7-2 vote Monday night applies to all girls teams, but was written because boys had been participating in field hockey, volleyball and softball.
A survey conducted by the Mid-Penn Conference showed that no other school district in the league has such a policy, although some coaches do not allow boys on female teams.
