Faulty receptacle causes Sharon house fire

SHARON, Pa. -- A faulty electrical receptacle under a couch caused a fire that injured a Curtis Street couple. A state police fire marshal ruled the Friday morning blaze at 532 Curtis St. accidental and said it started in the receptacle.
Renters Harlan and Lucille Shaffer were treated at UPMC Horizon in Farrell -- Harlan for burns on his back and Lucille for difficulty breathing. The fire did extensive damage to the one-story block house.
