YO-MAH-O Students awarded scholarships, convention highlights reviewed

Seventeen members represented the local chapter at an annual division meeting.
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Yo-Mah--O Chapter of International Association of Administrative Professionals awarded two $1,500 scholarships to area students during the organization's July meeting.
Recipients were Danielle J. Covault and Erik Peachock.
Miss Covault, a daughter of Debbie Kish of Struthers and Raymond Covault of McDonald, is majoring in integrated mathematics at Kent State University and will graduate in May 2004. She graduated from Struthers High School, where she participated in choir, band and the D.A.R.E. program while working at various jobs. Most recently she was an insurance and workers' compensation billing clerk in a chiropractor's office.
Peachock, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Peachock of Boardman, is a marketing major at Youngstown State University, where he will graduate in December 2005. He graduated from Boardman High School, where he was active in the marching band. He is employed at United Wireless and is active with baseball and bowling leagues.

It was reported that Joan Giba, a chapter member who is completing her term as president of the Ohio Division, received several awards at the annual meeting of the 53rd Ohio Division the weekend of June 20 in Newark. She was the recipient of five Certificate of Achievement awards and three Certificate of Participation awards.
Representing the local chapter at the convention were Joan Battagline, Roseann Cullen, Judy Cundik, H. Marlene Dailey, Sharyn Fees, Milissa Ferraro, Tracy Goad, Mary Hake, Pauline Hruby, Barbara Kramer, Joyce Laska, Andrea McConnaughy, Ruth Milligan, Lynn Romeo, Christine Simone, Barbara Sofranec and Patricia Vallas.
