NOTABLE SHIPS: The USS Laffey DD-724, left, is moored at Patriots Point. This famous World War II destroyer became known as "the ship that wouldn't die." Moored next to the Laffey is the U.S. Coast Guard cutter Ingham WPG-35, which sank a German U-Boat. Both ships are open to the public.
