AWARD Mothers of Twins names scholarship recipient

Ginger Kubala has been active with the club for over 34 years.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Ginger Leone Kubala was named the recipient of the annual scholarship from the Youngstown Mothers of Twins Club at a meeting June 11.
An active member of the organization for over 34 years, Kubala has served on nearly every committee and in numerous offices, including president. She also is an active member of the Ohio Federation of Mothers of Twins Clubs, for which she has served as president, in other offices and on committees.
She is a part-time employee of the Ursuline Sisters of Youngstown, where she also volunteers and is a member of the Century II, Company of Angela and Associate. She also is a member of St. Stanislaus Church, where she is a marriage prep sponsor, bereavement minister, lector, Eucharist minister and leader of prayer.
Her community involvement includes work with the American Cancer Society, Easter Seals and Muscular Dystrophy Association. She is a member and former speaker for Mothers Against Drunk Driving and a volunteer interpreter for the deaf community. She is a member of the Human Life Guild and Right to Life Society.
She was named to the Outstanding Women in America in 1978 and was the Youngstown Mothers of Twins Club's Mother of the Year in 1979. She received the Pius X Award in 1985 and the YWCA Religious Volunteer Woman of the Year in 1989.
Kubala is enrolled in studies through the Youngstown Diocese Office of Lay Ministry. She and her husband, Steve, have been married for nearly 37 years. They have three children and two grandchildren.
The organization
Mothers of Twins Club is a support group for mothers of multiples. The scholarship program is open to mothers of the group and their children. Professional judges choose the recipient. For information about the group or membership call Sue Brandenstein at (330) 782-4053.
