The commissioners also handled these matters Thursday:
Opened bids for five buses for the Mercer County Community Transit. The buses will be used for the Shared Ride Program, senior citizens, medical assisted transport and for the disabled. The vehicles will be paid for through a state grant.Approved contracts with several attorneys to provide legal services to defendants who cannot be represented by the public defender's office and also approved a contract with another lawyer to provide legal counsel to children involved with juvenile probation and Children and Youth Services who cannot be represented by the public defender. Entered an agreement with Greenville Borough to house county prisoners in Greenville's municipal jail at $50 per day.Approved a $6,906 contract with Liebert Global Services, Westerville, Ohio, for maintenance and repair services on the power supply in the 911 Communications Center.
