Thiel reached 100 points against Hiram.
COLUMBUS -- Jake Beck scored 26 points as Capital dominated in the first half and beat Mount Union, 74-55, Wednesday night in the Ohio Conference.
Beck made 11-of-14 shots and 4-of-5 free throws for the Crusaders (9-3, 4-1 OAC). Tony Ruberg scored 14 points.
Mount Union (8-4, 3-2) committed 20 turnovers. Rob Paulauskas produced 6-of-9 shooting for the Purple Raiders.
Thiel 100, Hiram 87
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Mike Banach led six double-figure scorers with 20 points for Thiel (5-7).
Shane Manley (East Palestine) and A. H. Davis (Boardman) added 18 points apiece for the Tomcats.
Allen Kirkpatrick scored 19 points for Hiram (3-9).
Frostburg St. 80, Grove City 74
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Pierre Bowers fired in 24 points for Frostburg (3-6).
Nate Maurer, Tanner Prosser, Phil Bushre and Mike Lukcic scored 20, 15, 11 and 11 points, respectively, for Grove City (7-4).
Grove City's 15-game home winning streak against non-conference Div. III teams was snapped.
Penn State Behrend 53,Allegheny 52
MEADVILLE, Pa. -- James Curren's 10-foot baseline jumper with 1.1 seconds remaining gave Behrend (7-3) the victory.
After falling behind, 27-19, at the half, Allegheny (5-7) opened the second half with a 23-9 run to take a six-point lead, 42-36, with 10 minutes remaining.
The lead changed hands four more times before Curren's winning shot.
Curren scored 20 points on 10-of-12 shooting. Allegheny's Nick Catanzarite also finished with 20 points on 8-of-16 shooting.
Tyrrell Smith had 13 points for the Gators.
Women
ALLIANCE -- Allie Graf (Poland) made four 3-point goals and scored 23 points to help Mount Union defeat Capital 60-55.
Ashley Bourdeau added 10 points for the Purple Raiders (8-3, 4-1 OAC) who trailed 35-31 at the break.
Capital (3-7, 2-3) was paced by Danielle Meyer with 15 points.
Grove City 67,Penn State Altoona 49
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Leigh LeGare scored 13 points and pulled in a career-high 18 rebounds for Grove City (2-9).
Christy Faller led Grove City with 15 points. Kristen Toomey scored 15 points for Penn St. Altoona (4-8).
Bethany 79, Pitt-Bradford 57
FORT BRADFORD, Pa. -- Kiki Cohen (Liberty) scored 22 points and Katie Hardie (Cardinal Mooney) added 16 points and eight rebounds for the Bison (12-2).
Cohen, a senior, tied a career-high with six 3-point goals.
Alicia Watkins scored 14 points for the Panthers.
