Friday, January 3, 2003

CANFIELD -- Police say they found suspected marijuana, heroin and crack late Thursday in a car driven by a West Main Street woman.
Chasity Rink, 28, is charged with drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia. The passenger in the car, George Rink III, 38, also of West Main Street, is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and drug abuse instruments. Reports do not say if they're related.
Police said they noticed George Rink put a pack of rolling papers in his pocket when they stopped the car around 11:30 p.m. on West Main Street for having a defective muffler. George Rink told police he used the papers to smoke marijuana, reports state.
Police then searched the car and found seven syringes containing suspected heroin next to the passenger's seat; a burnt beer can containing suspected heroin under the passenger's seat; a glass pipe containing suspected crack next to the driver's seat; and a "roach clip" containing suspected marijuana on the floor. They also found three unidentified pills in Chasity Rink's purse and a plastic bag containing suspected marijuana in her bra.
Reports state that Chasity Rink said she owned the suspected heroin in the beer can. She added that the suspected heroin was actually soap and she had been ripped off by a drug dealer.
George Rink told police that he uses the syringes to shoot heroin.
