GHOSTLY APPEARANCE: The character of Abe was the first to fall victim to the Salem Stalker on "Days of Our Lives," setting off a killing spree that shows no sign of slowing down. James Reynolds, who played Abe, reprises the role of a ghostly Abe next month on the series. Roman's untimely demise will also prompt a visit from Kimberly, played by Patsy Pease, scheduled for January. Meanwhile, having wrapped up filming of her latest Zenon movie, Kirsten Storms has resumed her role as Belle, just in time to face new perils at the hands of the treacherous Jan. As for Nadja Bjorlin's homecoming as Chloe, it's an open question as to how long her return might be.
NEW STATUS: Two "Bold and Beautiful" supporting cast members have been upgraded to contract status -- Joseph Marcell, who plays Hudson, and Drew Tyler Bell, who plays Thomas, Ridge's son. As yet, there is no set exit date for Jennifer Finnigan in the role of Bridget. She's opted to remain until "B & amp;B" recasts the role, which has one of the show's hottest current storylines.
PASSIONATE CALLS: Can't get enough of the soaps, even when you're away from your television set? Well, now "Passions" is supplying text messages to cell phones. To find out more about the new service, Unwired, log on to www.nbc.com/passions. "Passions"' McKenzie Westmore (Sheridan) will take a break from her character's traumatic life to offer pre-parade coverage of "NBC's Tournament of Roses Parade," airing New Year's Day.
ANOTHER KIND OF BOWL: SoapNet is rivaling the many football bowls with its very own New Year's "Serial Bowl." For six hours starting at 1 p.m. Thursday, the channel will air "Dynasty's" cattiest moments, featuring behind-the-scenes coverage from "Dynasty" creator Esther Shapiro.
