Friday's other games

Maple Leafs 6, Rangers 5, OT
NEW YORK -- Mats Sundin scored 3:35 into overtime to lift Toronto to a ragged victory over the New York Rangers and stretch the Maple Leafs' point streak to 16 games. Matthew Barnaby scored in the third period to tie it for the Rangers, who twice trailed by three goals. The Maple Leafs, who couldn't protect leads of 4-1 and 5-2, escaped with their streak intact despite being outshot 35-25.
Wild 2, Red Wings 2
DETROIT -- Dwayne Roloson stopped 38 shots and the Minnesota Wild extended their unbeaten streak to seven games with a tie against the Detroit Red Wings. The Wild got goals from Marian Gaborik and Wes Walz, improving to 4-0-3 during the run. Henrik Zetterberg and Kris Draper scored for Detroit, and Curtis Joseph made 22 saves. Walz broke a 1-all tie at 6:55 of the third period when he tipped in Willie Mitchell's pass from the left point.
Blues 3, Avalanche 3
ST. LOUIS -- Adam Foote's goal at 9:27 of the third period lifted the Colorado Avalanche into a tie with the St. Louis Blues. Despite the tie, the Avalanche are winless in their last six games (0-3-3). The Blues are 12-2-3-0 at home and are unbeaten in their last eight games (5-0-3-0) at Savvis Center, where a season-high 20,045 attended Friday's game. Foote's tying goal was a wrist shot from the left circle and it was just Colorado's second shot of the period.
Thrashers 3, Lightning 1
ATLANTA -- Shawn McEachern scored twice and Pasi Nurminen stopped 33 shots, helping the Atlanta Thrashers beat the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Thrashers won their third straight game just hours after All-Star Dany Heatley spoke publicly for the first time since the car wreck that killed teammate and friend Dan Snyder. Heatley, who broke his jaw and tore knee ligaments in the crash, started skating again this week and hopes to return this season.
Islanders 4, Devils 3, OT
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Mark Parrish scored 1:25 into overtime to give New York a win over New Jersey. The Islanders also got goals from Dave Scatchard, Mariusz Czerkawski and Oleg Kvasha as they beat the Stanley Cup champions for the second time in 10 days. Garth Snow made 26 saves. Jeff Friesen scored with 8:01 remaining in the third period to cap a three-goal comeback and help the Devils force overtime.
Sabres 3, Hurricanes 1
BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Mika Noronen made 30 saves and Buffalo scored three times in the third period for a win over Carolina. Ales Kotalik scored on the power play at 3:09 of the third period, breaking an 0-for-17 drought for the Sabres with the man advantage. Taylor Pyatt also scored for Buffalo, unbeaten in its last two games following a seven-game losing streak. Chris Taylor added an empty-net goal for the Sabres.
Canucks 2, Flames 0
CALGARY, Alberta -- Dan Cloutier made 31 saves for his second shutout of the season, leading the Vancouver Canucks over the Calgary Flames. Mattias Ohlund and Brendan Morrison scored for first-place Vancouver, which increased its lead to five points over Calgary in the Northwest Division. The Canucks are 6-0-2 in their last eight trips to the Pengrowth Saddledome. Cloutier's biggest stop of the night came 6:50 into the third period -- and it didn't even count as a save.
Stars 2, Predators 1
DALLAS -- Marty Turco stopped 23 shots and Brenden Morrow scored a power-play goal in the first period for the Dallas Stars, who beat the Nashville Predators. Jason Arnott added a goal in the second period to help Dallas win its third straight and improve to 5-1-1 in its last seven.
