Low-fare USA 3000begins Florida flights
PHILADELPHIA -- USA 3000, a low-fare airline based in the Philadelphia area, began scheduled flights to cities in Florida last week, adding to a list of destinations that already included the Caribbean and Mexico.
The new flights began Christmas week and operate three days a week to and from Fort Lauderdale and St. Petersburg-Clearwater, Fla.
An affiliate of Apple Vacations, the Newtown Square-based airline has added four Airbus A320 jets to round out a stable of 10 airplanes. The airline offers a movie, meal and nine audio channels of entertainment on its longer flights to Mexico and the Caribbean.
"We're using the planes to fly to Florida when we have them available," said USA 3000 chief operating officer Angus J. Kinnear. "We're a leisure airline, not a business airline. You won't be able to take us to Kansas City."
