Here are the dates, topics and speakers for the People's Law School being presented by the Mahoning County Bar Association. Classes will be from 7-9 p.m. at Boardman High School:
Jan. 27: Court system, small claims, appellate courts, hiring a lawyer; speakers, Judge Mary DeGenaro of the 7th District Court of Appeals, attorneys Kathi McNabb Welsh and Herman J. Carach.
Feb. 3: Wills, living wills, power of attorney, adoptions; speakers, attorneys Robert N. Rusu and Tom Infante.
Feb. 10: Marriage, divorce and custody, general grounds, spousal support, division of property, custody; speakers, attorneys Matt Giannini, Don Hepfner, Tom Zena.
Feb. 17: Criminal law; speaker, Judge Elizabeth A. Kobly of Youngstown Municipal Court.
Feb. 24: Fair debt collection, home solicitation sales, buying a home; speakers, attorneys Cherie H. Howard and Dave Detec.
March 2: Employment law, discrimination/harassment, Americans with Disabilities Act, Family Medical Leave Act; speakers, attorneys Martin S. Hume and Lynn A. Maro.
March 9: Workers' compensation, unemployment compensation; speaker, Atty. Ronald E. Slipski.
March 16: Real estate law, landlord/tenant law, condominium law; speakers, attorneys David S. Barbee and Ted Roberts.
March 23: Bankruptcy law, general small business law; speakers, attorneys Frederick S. Coombs and Alan Wenger.
March 30: Constitutional law; speaker, Atty. John B. Juhasz.
