KEYSTONE CLIPS Outgoing commissioner makes offer to stick around

When Hermitage City Commissioner Larry Gurrera questioned the date of the commissioners' reorganization meeting, he got an offer from a potential stand-in.
Outgoing Commissioner Joseph Augustine, who lost a re-election bid in November and was attending his last meeting last week, offered to take Gurrera's place for the next four years. "If you can't make it, Larry, I'll fill in for you," he told Gurrera.
Club collects donations
The Human Development and Family Studies Club at Penn State Shenango got into the holiday spirit this year, helping to collect new coats, mittens and socks to be donated to the Prince of Peace Center in Farrell. A financial gift from the Sharonsteel Foundation also enabled the club to buy 26 additional coats from the Sears Roebuck & amp; Co. store in the Shenango Valley Mall at a substantial discount.
"There are so many people in need, especially at this time of year. Our club is extremely happy that we can help, in some small way, to make a difference in our community," said Jeannette Rowan, club chairwoman.
