YOUNGSTOWN -- The Youngstown Police Department has been awarded an $11,814 grant for its Drug Abuse Resistance Education program for this school year, said Ohio Attorney General Jim Petro. The grant is part of nearly $3.2 million being divided among 222 law enforcement agencies statewide.

YOUNGSTOWN -- Family Financial Education Services, a program of Family Service Agency, offers a free workshop for first-time home buyers from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Jan. 7 at FSA offices at 545 Marmion Ave. Topics include determining affordability, budgeting, credit problems and the loan application process.
