BIG TEN ROUNDUP Red-hot Kentucky rolls past Hoosiers



The Wildcats held Indiana to its lowest point total in nearly 20 years, 80-41.

INDIANAPOLIS -- No. 2 Kentucky held Indiana to its lowest point total in nearly 20 years, overpowering the Hoosiers 80-41 on Saturday.
Chuck Hayes scored 22 points and Erik Daniels added 19 and the Wildcats (6-0) used a suffocating defense to hold Indiana to just 15 points in the second half.
While Kentucky was hitting 50 percent of its shots from the field, Indiana (4-4) shot just 24.2 percent -- 16.7 percent in the second half.
Bracey Wright had 23 points and Sean Kline 15 for the Hoosiers. The rest of the team combined for three.
The last time Indiana was held to 41 points was Jan. 27, 1985, in a 52-41 loss at Illinois.
No. 22 Wisconsin 63, No. 23 Marquette 59
MADISON, Wis. -- Alando Tucker scored 17 points, including a free throw with 7 seconds remaining, to lead Wisconsin.
Devin Harris added 15 points for the Badgers (7-1), who overcame a slow start to win their 19th straight home game.
Travis Diener scored 19 points to lead Marquette (7-2) in the 110th meeting between the schools. Steve Novak added 12 points and Karon Bradley 10 for the Golden Eagles.
Michigan 85, Cent. Michigan 75
ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Lester Abram scored a career-high 24 points and Bernard Robinson Jr. added 22 to help Michigan to an 85-75 win over Central Michigan on Saturday.
Daniel Horton also had 12 points for the Wolverines, who are 6-1 for the first time since the start of the 1999-2000 season.
Gerrit Brigitha had 19 points and David Hoskins added 16 for the Chippewas (2-6), who have dropped two straight since upsetting Notre Dame.
No. 17 Purdue 80, IPFW 69
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Matt Kiefer scored a career-high 23 points in reserve role to lead No. 17 Purdue to a 80-69 win over Indiana-Purdue-Fort Wayne in the first round of the Boilermaker Invitational on Saturday.
Chris Booker added 18 points for Purdue (8-1).
Kiefer shot 9-for-10 from the floor and 5-for-8 from the line, and Purdue used a 15-0 run midway through the second half to put the game away.
UCLA 64, Michigan St. 58
LOS ANGELES -- T.J. Cummings scored 13 points in his first start of the season and UCLA defeated Michigan State after the Bruins' floor was named in honor of John Wooden and his late wife Nell.
Brian Morrison was relegated to the bench for the first time in six games to make way for Cummings, who became academically eligible Wednesday.
