Eagle Court of Honor
Bryan Fencyk's Eagle Court of Honor was Dec. 7 at the First Baptist Church, West State Street, Sharon, Pa.
Bryan began his Scouting career as a Tiger Cub and obtained the highest award given, Arrow of Light. He then moved on to Boy Scout Troop 26, Brookfield. During his time in Boy Scouts, Bryan served as a den chief, scribe, patrol leader, senior patrol leader and is currently serving as junior assistant scoutmaster.
He was presented his Eagle award by Scoutmaster Frank Bayer.
For his Eagle Service Project, Bryan planned and organized the construction and rebuilding of the First Baptist Church Food Pantry. This project enabled the pantry, which serves approximately 450 families in the Sharon area, to store more consumable goods for distribution. He obtained donations, materials and services from the local troops, businesses, and lumber companies. The organized work parties met every Wednesday evening for about two months.
He is a member of Covenant First Presbyterian Church of Sharon. He is a senior at Brookfield High School and is a four-year member of the honor roll. He is also a member of "Who's Who Among American High School Students." He is currently in the delayed entry program of the United States Marine Corps.

Doctorate from Stanford
Mike Bada, originally from Youngstown, was granted a doctoral degree from Stanford University, Stanford, Calif.
His doctoral research was in the realm of bioinformatics, a burgeoning field at the intersection of computer science and biology. He performed research in representing experimental biochemical and biophysical data using advanced data structures called ontologies and constructing software applications that rely upon these representations to guide users in finding and applying these data.
Bada attended St. Brendan School and then Ursuline High School before attending Case Western Reserve University, where he earned a bachelor of science in chemistry, magna cum laude. After working for a year at Lubrizol, a petrochemical company in suburban Cleveland, he left to pursue his doctorate at Stanford.
He is the son of Nada Bada of Austintown, and the late George Bada. He is currently a research fellow in the Department of Computer Science of the University of Manchester, Manchester, England, where he is continuing to perform research in bioinformatics.

Passes Ohio Bar Exam
Atty. Mark Jon Miller, son of Wayne and Karyn Miller, has passed the Ohio State Bar exam.
A 1996 graduate of Boardman High School, he earned his bachelor of arts degree from Muskingum College in New Concord, Ohio, in 2000 majoring in political science and public affairs, with highest honors.
He received his juris doctorate from Capital Law School in Columbus, in 2003, where he also graduated with highest honors.
Miller is currently employed by Boone, Smith and Associates where he is focused on employment law, criminal law and personal injury.
