WARREN -- Families Helping Families is offering its 14th annual free Christmas Day dinner from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday at Aulizio's Banquet Center, 4395 Youngstown Road S.E.
The idea of the Christmas dinner is to bring happiness to individuals and families, according to organizers. Santa will bring toys for children at the dinner.
Contact Trumbull Community Action Program at (330) 393-2507 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. by Wednesday to make reservations. Transportation needs must be expressed at the time reservations are made.
Anyone who wants to help brighten the life of a child, family or elderly person by donating or volunteering may call Dan and JoAnn Polivka at (330) 372-7388.
Democrat meetings
The Trumbull County Democratic Party Executive Committee will meet at 6 p.m. Jan. 8 at Little Peppino's Restaurant, Girard, to decide whom to recommend to the Ohio Secretary of State to fill a board of elections seat for a term beginning in March. The seat is now held by Pat Sebastiano.
The party Central Committee will meet at 6 p.m. Jan. 15 at Divieste Banquet Hall in Warren to elect a person to fill the county commissioner seat being vacated by Michael O'Brien. O'Brien will become Warren mayor at the start of the month. The central committee also will discuss endorsements for the March primary.
