Here are a few tips when dealing with harvested game:
If you kill an animal with a previous wound or that appears unhealthy, don't expect to eat any part of the animal.
Clean ice chests with Clorox and water before and after storing meat in them.
If the ice chest stinks before meat is placed inside you're giving bacteria a head start.
Pepper might keep flies away, but it will not retard bacteria growth.
The cleaner the kill the better the meat will taste.
