COLUMBUS -- Brandie Hoskins scored 22 points on 10-of-12 shooting to lead 18th-ranked for the championship of the Buckeye Classic. Hoskins scored 18 in the first half, including a layup and a 3-pointer during a 12-2 run gave Ohio State a 39-19 lead with 5:30 left. The Buckeyes (7-1), who led 47-30 at the break, also had a 7-0 run earlier in the half. Jewel Clark led Penn (4-4) with 22 points, and Jennifer Fleischer had 13 points and eight rebounds. Jessica Davenport added 20 points for the Buckeyes, and LaToya Turner had 10 points and 10 rebounds. Ohio State distributed the ball well, with all but one player scoring and all but another having an assist. The Buckeyes shot 63 percent, while the Quakers hit only 36 percent.

PHILADELPHIA -- Barbara Turner scored 19 points, and Diana Taurasi added 18 for Connecticut. It was the 32nd straight road victory for the Huskies (8-0), who started 5-for-15 from the floor, missed some easy layups and made a few turnovers early on. But UConn closed the first half with a 13-2 run -- making 12 of its final 18 shots -- against the Hawks (4-3), and began the second half with a 29-4 run.

NORMAN, Okla. -- Shyra Ely scored 17 points, and Shanna Zolman added 14 to keep Tennessee unbeaten. The Lady Vols (9-0) posted their second victory in eight days over an unbeaten, top-15 team.

LUBBOCK, Texas -- Alesha Robertson scored 18 points, helping unbeaten Texas Tech to the best start in its history. The Lady Raiders (11-0) began the 1999-00 season with 10 consecutive wins.

HARRISONBURG, Va. -- Erin Gibson had 15 points and 12 rebounds for unbeaten Virginia Tech, which took control with a 17-1 run in the second half.
