Streaks, stats and notes: Chargers coach Marty Schottenheimer hired Steelers coach Bill Cowher for his first NFL coaching position in 1985. Schottenheimer, then head coach of Browns, hired Cowher as special teams coach. Cowher coached under Schottenheimer in Cleveland (1985-88) and Kansas City (1989-91). Both coaches are Pittsburgh-area natives.
