LORDSTOWN 4 career-training programs for adults to begin Feb. 2



A medical-assistant program teaches administrative and clinical skills.
LORDSTOWN -- The TCTC Adult Training Center is offering four career-training programs beginning winter quarter, Feb. 2. All four classes meet through mid-June, resume in September, and conclude by Jan. 31, 2005.
Courses include ASE-Certified training in both Auto Service Technology and Auto Collision Repair. These two classes meet Monday through Thursday evenings, and are taught by ASE-certified instructors with extensive experience in their fields. Classes include both lecture and hands-on experience in the lab.
Administrative Office Technology also meets Monday through Thursday evening. Covered will be: keyboarding, MS-Office, business communications, Front Page, office procedures, accounting, payroll, QuickBooks and automated accounting and payroll.
The February Medical Assistant program runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday. Students learn both the administrative and clinical skills required of a medical professional in a doctor's office. Included in the curriculum are: keyboarding and computer usage, insurance coding, medical terminology, office procedures, pharmacology, phlebotomy, and externship experience. This class is nationally accredited, and graduates are eligible to sit for the national exam to become a Certified Medical Assistant.
