YOUNGSTOWN SYMPHONIC BAND Group to perform its 43rd consecutive fair show

CANFIELD -- The Youngstown Symphonic Band will perform its annual Canfield Fair band concert from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday in the Gazebo at the Western Reserve Village.
The concert marks the 43rd consecutive year the band, under the direction of Paul Rossi, has been presenting a traditional band concert at the fair.
The band, also under the direction of associate conductor William Slocum, will play a Dixieland band composition and feature a trumpet trio and brass trio composition. It will be playing well-known John Phillip Sousa marches, Latin American compositions and Broadway show compositions.
Vocal soloist, Eric McClellan, and trumpet soloist, Joseph Commarata, will be featured during the performance.
McClellan attended the Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University and has performed at the Youngstown Playhouse, the New Castle Playhouse and at Powers Auditorium in Youngstown.
Commarata, also a graduate of the Dana School of Music, is a band director in the Girard School District.
