Buses to run to fairgrounds every two hours

YOUNGSTOWN -- WRTA will operate buses to the Canfield Fair beginning on Thursday, Youth Day.
Last year, few riders took the bus to the fair on Youth Day because schools were in session, said Thomas R. Nugen, WRTA director of transportation.
This year, Nugen said, most schools will start classes after Labor Day and the close of the fair. That should mean an increase in ridership to the fair, he said, especially on Youth Day when all youngsters up to and including age 16 are admitted free.
WRTA also will operate buses to the fair on Friday and Saturday. Buses for the 40-minute trip to the fairgrounds will depart Federal Station every two hours beginning at 9:10 a.m.
The last bus to the fair will depart Federal Station on 5:10 p.m. The last bus on the return trip will depart the fairgrounds at 6:20 p.m. and arrive at Federal Station at 7 p.m.
Passes and transfers will not be honored.
