Niles community parade
NILES -- The 13th annual Labor Community Parade will be at 10 a.m. Sept. 6. Pierrette M. Talley, secretary-treasurer of the Ohio AFL-CIO, will be grand marshal. Units will line up at 8 a.m. on Dragon Drive at Niles McKinley High School, with the parade route going along Federal Street, Vienna Avenue, Robbins Avenue, State Street, West Park Avenue, Main Street and returning to Federal. The parade will include marching bands, floats, clowns and athletic clubs.
Girard center events
GIRARD -- The Girard Multi-Generational Center will hold an open house to feature a new addition and its programs from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday. Topics of events include distance computer learning, senior information, crafts, family services, fingerprinting and safety information, robotics, guardianships, yoga, tai chi, health screening and Irish music.
