VALERIE BERENDTJEFFREY RAINER
XYOUNGSTOWN -- The wedding of Valerie Berendt and Jeffrey Rainer took place at 1 p.m. July 19 at St. Brendan Church with the Rev. James Daprile officiating. Parents of the bride are Kathleen Berendt of Youngstown and Martin Berendt Jr. of Struthers. The groom is a son of Joe and Rosemarie Rainer, 1543 Wampum Drive.
A reception was held at St. Nicholas Byzantine Center, and the couple honeymooned in Hawaii. They are living at 720 Newport Lane, Streetsboro.
The bride wore an ivory satin gown accented with pearls.
Maid of honor was Julie Gay, and bridesmaids were Amanda Gay, Katie Rimedio and the bride's cousins, Nora Berdelle, Christine Berdelle and Lindsay Kiliany. They wore cream and champagne gowns. The groom's niece, Julia Rainer, was flower girl.
David Kovacs served as best man, and groomsmen were Doug Ross; Bryan Horne; Daniel Berendt, the bride's brother; Mike Santillo; and Joe Rainer III, the groom's nephew. Ring bearer was another nephew of the groom, Andrew Hubert.
A graduate of Youngstown State University with a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Mrs. Rainer is a loss prevention consultant with F. M. Global in North Olmsted.
Her husband holds a bachelor's degree in education from YSU and is a special-education teacher with Streetsboro City Schools.
