AUSTINTOWN -- Son Grace Music Ministries will be appearing at First United Methodist Church of West Austintown
On Oct. 6, services are at 8 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Services will also be at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 6 through 11.
Son Grace Music Ministries is a ministry of John and Filese Hauser from Oklahoma City, Okla. Filese sings, witnesses and teaches, and John preaches and teaches. Call (330) 792-1221.
Pastor appointed
AUSTINTOWN -- Austintown Baptist Church has called the Rev. Daniel Weaver of Norman, Okla., as its new pastor. The Rev. Mr. Weaver has degrees from Oklahoma Baptist University, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and Midwestern Theological Seminary. His installation is at 11 a.m. Oct. 6. A barbecue fellowship will follow.
Wedding recognition
CANTON -- The anniversaries of 116 couples, celebrating a total of 5,310 years of wedded life ranging from 25 to 68 years, will be celebrated at a Mass at 2 p.m. Oct. 13 at St. John the Baptist Church. Bishop Thomas J. Tobin of the Diocese of Youngstown will be the celebrant.
John and Mary Philips, parishioners of St. Barbara Parish in Massillon, will be the couple in attendance married the longest. They are celebrating 68 years of marriage.
There will be 47 couples married 51-67 years; 20 couples married 50 years; 20 couples married 40 years; and 28 couples married 25 years.
Musicians to perform
WARREN -- Grace United Methodist Church will present the Christian Continental Singers and their new program "Live It Up" at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The group is a division of "The Continentals Music Ministry," which has been sharing the Gospel of Christ though music, choreography and testimony internationally for 35 years. YOUNGSTOWN -- Tabernacle Baptist Church is having several events, including:
UChurch Ushers Ministry's annual African Feast at 4 p.m. next Saturday. The cost is $10.
UAn after-school program, "Back to Basics," starting Oct. 8. Applications will be available starting Monday.

Prayer rally scheduled
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Greater Coalition of Christians will have a prayer rally at Cornerstone Chapel at 7 p.m. Friday.
Youth program
YOUNGSTOWN -- The youth choir of Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church will sponsor a musical program at 5 p.m. Sunday.
Prayer breakfast
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Office of Pro-Life Activities of the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown will sponsor the fourth annual Human Life Guild Prayer Breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m. next Saturday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish. Youngstown Bishop Thomas J. Tobin will preside at Morning Prayer. Monsignor Robert J. Siffrin, vicar general of the diocese, will give the keynote presentation.
The Human Life Guild, founded by Bishop Tobin, is an organization whose members accept Pope John Paul II's invitation to be "people of life" through an unconditional commitment to human life. On Oct. 6, the Office of Pro-Life Activities and the Mahoning County Right to Life invites people to participate in the Annual Life Chains.
Locations and times include: At the corner of Dressler and Everhard in Canton from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.; at the Portage County Court House in Ravenna from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m,; from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Warren Plaza in Warren; and at Market Street and Midlothian Boulevard in Youngstown from 2 to 3 p.m.
The Office of Pro-Life Activities and the Youngstown Diocesan Council of Catholic Women will sponsor a "Shower of Love" to collect donations of new and nearly new items for pregnant mothers and children. Items may be dropped off at local participating parishes until Oct. 18.
On Oct. 19, items should be dropped off at the designated parish in each of the six counties of the diocese from 10 a.m. until noon.
Counties, churches and locales include: Ashtabula County: Sacred Heart Parish, Rock Creek; Columbiana County: St. George Parish, Lisbon; Mahoning County: St. Columba Cathedral Hall, Youngstown; Portage County: Immaculate Conception Parish, Ravenna; Stark County: St. Michael Parish, Canton; Trumbull County: Christ Our King Parish Rectory, Warren.
Reconciliation services
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Pastors Gabriel and Vi Medicine Eagle will discuss reconciliation over the loss of American Indian lands at 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Living Word Christian Center.
Musician honored
HUBBARD -- A musical celebration in honor of keyboardist Raymond Bonner will be at 6 p.m. today at Phillips Chapel C.O.G.I.C. Participating musicians include Trini Massie and the Love Outreach from Pittsburgh.

Missionaries to speak
COLUMBIANA -- Larry and Sharon Carr, career missionaries with World Gospel Mission to Paraguay, will speak at 10:35 a.m. Sunday at Zion Hill Church of the Brethren. The Carrs were born and raised in Conneaut. The couple plan to return to their ministries in Paraguay, where they have worked for 11 years.

Spirituality conference
PITTSBURGH -- Eastern Christians of the Byzantine Catholic Archeparchy of Pittsburgh and the Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Diocese of the U.S.A. will explore their histories at a spirituality conference next Saturday at the Radisson Hotel in Monroeville, Pa. Concert scheduled
YOUNGSTOWN -- Annie Herring, former lead singer for the group "2nd Chapter of Acts," will perform in concert at 7 p.m. Oct. 13 at St. Christine Church. She's been a professional musician for more than 30 years and has recorded 23 albums. Admission is free.
Gospel concert

Appreciation banquet
WARREN -- The Olive Branch Ministry will have an appreciation banquet honoring its founder and director, Minister Olive Reese, at 6 p.m. Oct. 12 at The Renaissance Place. The banquet will observe the ministry's 18th year, Reese's 73rd birthday, and honor her associate, Mary Harris. Both are staff ministers of New Jerusalem Fellowship Church. The speaker will be Pastor Salina Covington of The Place Where The Lord Provides Christian Center in Youngstown.

Anniversary events
YOUNGSTOWN -- Several events will mark the 28th anniversary of Pastor Bennie Hardin of Mount Zion Church of God in Christ.
There will be services at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday. On Oct. 6, Kenny Eldridge will speak at the 11 a.m. service. At 4:30 p.m. that day, there will be a banquet at Brentford House in Hubbard. The speaker will be Superintendent Wilbert Hadden.
Clothing outreach
YOUNGSTOWN -- Fifth Avenue Community Church is starting a clothing ministry for people of all ages. Fine Linens-n-Things will be open from 9 a.m. to noon on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month. There will be free coffee and doughnuts. Donations will be accepted.
