ASSOCIATIONS
XEastern Ohio Pharmacists Association will meet at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lucianno's Restaurant in Austintown. Dr. Nazim A. Jaffer will give the program, "Diagnosis and Treatment of Alzheimer's Disease." Refreshments will be provided. All pharmacists and pharmaceutical representatives are invited.
XTri-County Chapter, American Business Women's Association, will meet for networking at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Saxon Club, Meridian Road, where dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. and a program will begin at 7. XMcDonald Sideliners meets at 7 p.m. each Tuesday at the high school to review game films.
AUXILIARIES
XEagles 3298 Auxiliary will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the aerie. XVFW Post 7538 Auxiliary will meet for dinner at 6 p.m. Wednesday at The Elmton, Fifth Street, Struthers. An inspection will follow at 7:30 with Dorothy McLaughlin presiding. Dues of $13 are being collected. For reservations call Eleanor Goskie, (330) 755-2051 by Monday. Hostess will be Babe Spencer.
XYoungstown Eagles Auxiliary 213 will meet at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday with Melva Day presiding. There will be no bake sale this month.
BOOSTERS
XGirard Band Boosters will at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the high school cafeteria.
CLUBS
XChapter CE, PEO Sisterhood, will meet Wednesday at Canfield Presbyterian Church for a noon lunch and meeting. Officers will meet at 9 a.m. for a conference. There will be a visitation by Sue Baker, first vice president of the Ohio PEO. Hostesses will be Margaret Meikle and Dorothy Demen.
XFriends of Poland Library will meet at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Poland Library meeting room, 311 S. Main St. Dr. Lyn Hemminger, associate professor for human performance and exercise science at Youngstown State University, will be the guest speaker on the topic, "Physically Fit for Life." Hostesses will be Helen McAfee, Maureen Cole, Jean McComb and Midge Walsh. Members should take trash and treasure items, books and magazines for the book sale planned Oct. 4-6.
XPoland Center Homemakers will meet for a casserole lunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Poland United Methodist Church. Hostesses will be RoseMary Berger, JoAnn Carissimi and Agnes Filip. Participants should take a 10- to 12-inch straw wreath, floral pins, glue gun and scissors. Leaves, ribbon and ornaments will be furnished. Members should also take crafts to display for a day of sharing.
XVienna Fish and Game Club will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Conservation Clubhouse, Youngstown-Kingsville Road N.E.

XGirard Knights of Columbus Council 2935 will have Leo Grimes, past grand night, as guest speaker for their meeting at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the K. of C. Hall, 133 S. State St.
XMcDonald Knights of Columbus will meet at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the K. of C. Hall, Illinois Avenue.
POLITICAL CLUBS
XCanfield Republican Women will hold a "Meet the Republican Candidates" program Wednesday at Diamond Back Golf Course in Ellsworth, where the 6 p.m. social hour will be followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. Shirley Pitzer will preside. Reservations are required.
RELIGIOUS GROUPS
XHoly Name of Jesus Ladies Guild will meet at noon Tuesday. Hostesses will be Ann Backus and Ann Galik.
XSt. Rose Altar and Rosary Society will meet for a catered luncheon with guests at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the lower church hall. Raffle tickets for an afghan will be sold.
XTod Avenue United Methodist Women will hold a membership tea Wednesday at the church beginning with a punch at 6:30 p.m. At 7 Mrs. Layes Wood will present a program on her paperweight collection, and there will be musical selections. Members are asked to take towels for the kitchen. Deborah Circle is in charge.
XUnited Methodist Women of Richard Brown Memorial United Methodist Church will meet Thursday at the church with Eleanor Frost presiding. The executive meeting will be held at 12:15 p.m. There will be a brown-bag lunch, and dessert will be provided by Dorene Oakley and her committee. Freda Pregibon will give the blessing. The program will be a pledge service presented by Edith Thornton.

XFowler Township Historical Society will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Fowler Community Center. The program will be on the railroad days in Fowler. Plans will be made for a Christmas open house to be held Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 at the David and Melissa Butts Museum.
