WARREN Belevedere Ave. wife charged in fatal stabbing

Detectives said the stabbing happened during a fight.

WARREN -- A 40-year-old woman is expected to face a voluntary manslaughter charge in the stabbing of her husband.
Theresa Carnahan, of 995 Belvedere Ave. S.E., is scheduled to appear in municipal court today. Police said Mrs. Carnahan stabbed her husband, Michael, 41, around 2 a.m. Saturday.
Police found Carnahan in his driveway with a stab wound to the chest. He was taken by ambulance to Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital, where he died.
Mrs. Carnahan was arrested at 3 a.m. Saturday, police said.
Fight erupts
Detectives said this morning that the stabbing happened during a fight, which began after the couple's dog urinated on the floor and Carnahan kicked the animal.
She became angry and a fight started, according to detectives. Police said Carnahan was choking his wife with a broom handle and she grabbed a knife and stabbed him.
Police noted that they had not had any previous calls for service from the Carnahan home.
This is the city's fourth homicide of the year and the second in less than a week.

A 66-year-old Hillsdale Drive N.W. man was shot to death Tuesday after a man entered his home.
Chad Karpenko, 20, Warren Road, Newton Falls, is facing an aggravated murder charge in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court. He has pleaded innocent and is being held without bond.
