SOUTHINGTON -- Although Thad James rushed for 102 yards on 22 carries Saturday, Sandy Valley defeated the Southington High football team, 20-9.
Brian Sabo kicked a 27-yard field goal and Steve Selvester returned a fumble 20 yards as the Wildcats (1-2) took a 9-7 lead at the break.
Each team had 15 first downs.
