TRUMBULL COUNTY Commissioners approve 2 tax abatements

Both abatements have already cleared council.
WARREN -- Trumbull County commissioners approved tax breaks Wednesday for Time Warner Entertainment Co. to consolidate offices in a new building on Youngstown-Warren Road and for Albert Guarnieri & amp; Company to expand its Elm Street warehouse.
Time Warner was granted a 75-percent reduction in real estate and property taxes for 10 years on a $1.9 million building in Warren. The tax break will be shared by Eastgate Technology Park, which is constructing the building and leasing it to the cable company. The tax break also covers $295,000 worth of new equipment and furniture, officials say.
The company plans to eventually transfer 40 employees from its Weir Road facility and 33 employees from its Youngstown-Warren Road facility to the new site. Commissioners also gave a 75-percent tax break on real estate and property taxes for 10 years to Albert Guarnieri & amp; Company's planned construction of loading docks and office renovation.
The 114-year-old company, which supplies hundreds of convenience stores in Ohio and neighboring states, has purchased four houses behind the warehouse. One will be turned into office space, with a building connecting it to the rest of the facility, Robert Guarnieri said.
The other three have been or will be demolished to make room for docks.
The company expects construction, renovations and additional equipment to cost more than $1 million. The company says it will add four permanent and three part-time employees when the expansion is complete.
It now employs 46 full-time and eight part-time workers.
Both abatements were approved by Warren City Council last week.
